Clear Align Software Engineer

Clear Align designs, prototypes and manufactures custom imaging, sensing and fiber optic systems for defense, aerospace and commercial customers. Clear Align’s imaging expertise spans the UV, visible, NIR, SWIR, MWIR, and LWIR portions of the spectrum, delivering both narrow- and wide field-of-view systems. Fiber-optic and sensing expertise includes optical integration for communications, remote sensing and targeting, as well as medical fiber optics.

Clear Align houses a highly sophisticated facility and engineering team in an organizational structure that is nimble, customer-driven and non-bureaucratic. We are currently looking for an experienced software engineer to support ERP system implementation and product development. This individual will be responsible for developing, implementing and enhancing a Infor Visual Enterprise ERP solution (including Visual Manufacturing, Visual Quality, Projects Aerospace and Defense Module, as well as in house custom solutions). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Coordinate meetings with the system’s stakeholders to understand the domain-specific knowledge within the ERP system, as well as the overall current-state value and functionality of that system
Analyze and understand database structures
Gathering, translating and documenting end user requirements
Develop custom software solutions that will optimize and extend ERP system utilization
Develop and produce documentation and training to optimize use of system
Automate database backed report writing using a combination of standard and proprietary tools
Support improved quality assurance by optimizing data entry and analysis
Optimize manufacturing operations with improved data tracking while minimizing bureaucratic operations or redundancy

The candidate should have the following attributes:

Experience in at least one high level development language such as Java or C#
Familiarity with SQL, preferably MS SQL Server 2000, is a must for this position
Exposure to scripting languages like VB Script or Javascript, a significant plus
Product development and test set programming, especially software product development, also pluses
Ability to work and interact in a team environment as well as complete complex work independently
Labview or engineering development experience would benefit the candidate during the consideration period
Manufacturing, optics or defense experience a plus
Good communication skills and ability to succinctly summarize and document work
B.S. degree in IT, engineering or equivalent experience
U.S. citizenship required
