Clear Align Optics Assembly Specialist

Clear Align is searching for a few detail-oriented and highly-dedicated optical assembly specialists to join our rapidly-growing team. Clear Align manufactures custom imaging, sensing and fiber optic systems for defense and aerospace applications and houses a highly sophisticated manufacturing team in an organizational structure that is nimble, customer-driven and non-bureaucratic. The optical assembly specialist must be capable of independent assembly of optical, mechanical or electronic systems in a clean room environment. The role calls for flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, project coordination experience, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff. Time management and organizational skills are a must, as well as a high degree of flexibility, independence, creative thinking and problem-solving ability.

They will approach assignments and areas of responsibility in a proactive, self-directed manner, and seek to add value by showing initiative and growing their contributions. Computer systems skills and ability to manage multiple complex projects and set priorities appropriately is a must. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities will be assembly and testing of fiber optic and imaging systems. Candidate must have assembly experience. Any of the following experience would be a plus but not required: optical alignment, mechanical assembly, electronic assembly, work in a clean room environment; cleaning and contamination control.

The candidate should have the following attributes:

• Excellent fine motor skills working with small components (experience with model building, micro-soldering, needle point or jewelry making is an indicator of good coordination). Hands-on experience in assembly including optical, electronic and/or mechanical assembly of custom products a plus.
• Experience reading drawings and prints a plus.
• Person must bring a history of dedication to serving their coworkers in an ethical, reliable and punctual manner.
• Good mathematics skills including competence in high school level geometry and algebra required.
• Ability to work and interact within a team structure as well as ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills and ability to succinctly summarize and document work in a written format.
