Clear Align Supply Chain Manager

Clear Align is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join our rapidly-growing team. Clear Align designs, prototypes and manufactures custom imaging, sensing and fiber optic systems for defense, aerospace and commercial customers. Clear Align’s imaging expertise spans the UV, visible, NIR, SWIR, MWIR, and LWIR portions of the spectrum, delivering both narrow- and wide field-of-view systems. Fiber-optic and sensing expertise includes optical integration for communications, remote sensing and targeting, as well as medical fiber optics.

The successful Supply Chain Manager candidate will be responsible for proactively supporting manufacturing operations with a streamlined, high-quality optical supply chain.

The candidate will identify system tools and supply chain partners to optimize planning and manufacturing execution. The candidate will oversee technical elements of our supplier base, perform quality audits and proactively manage quality issues with suppliers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Manage Supply Chain Operations both Strategically and Tactically:

  • Direct quality operations on a continual basis and improve and/or modify policies and procedures, as necessary, to create world-class quality from suppliers and move suppliers from 85% on time delivery and quality to 98%.
  • Direct and oversee the company’s materials management, supplier quality programs, objectives, and initiatives as required to support 300% growth over the next three years.
  • Claim executive ownership of all supplier relationships and ensure suppliers are excited about supporting us and motivated to make their commitments to us.
  • Plan logistics and negotiations associated with a constant flow of high quality on-time components that exceed standards for bulk optics, mechanics and electronics for defense programs at the lowest possible overall cost. Reduce cost of managing delivery and quality by 50% (based on dollars for quality oversight per materials COGS).
  • Assist Quality Assurance in conducting supplier audits for compliance to AS9100.
  • Support accounting/purchasing department with buys and receiving during peak periods.
  • Manage and supervise staff tasked with creating material requirement plans and/or forecasts.
  • Establish key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting.
  • Measure actual performance against goals on regular basis and present results to senior management; familiar with the development, use, and implementation of planning and forecasting systems.

The candidate should have the following attributes:

  • Defense experience and strong contract and ITAR compliance background is highly preferred.
  • Strong background in IR and visible imaging supply chain including industry expertise in optical, mechanical and electronic component suppliers industry-wide.
  • Experienced with customer and prospective customer interaction.
  • Experience with implementing ERP and AS9100 programs a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to summarize and document work.
  • Ability to work and interact within a team structure as well as the ability to work independently. This includes willingness to share credit for ideas and innovations and keep environment positive and constructive.
  • BS/BA degree in engineering.
  • Must understands integrated supply chain and logistic concepts.
  • Must be able to communicate supply chain objectives clearly and convey the benefits to the organization.
  • Must be highly proficient in all Microsoft Software: MS Excel, Access, Word, Projects.
  • Excellent team building and project management skills.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
