Clear Align delivers Featherweight™ ultralight NIR and SWIR lenses for man-portable and UAV applications

Eagleville, PA - Clear Align announces a novel family of NIR and SWIR optics called Featherweight™ that are part of the INSPIRE™ product family. Through a combination of innovative optical design and unique low-reflection lightweight material development, reduced the size by 20%, improved thermal performance, and improved image quality.

“Infantry and airborne applications need more performance integrated into smaller and lighter payloads; this has been especially true for SWIR and NIR systems. Featherweight™ now meets these new requirements,” said Dr. Michael Finlan, Vice President of Imaging at Clear Align.  The Featherweight™ INSPIRE™ family of products provides the industry with pre-engineered, high-performance SWIR lenses and NIR lenses built for hostile military environments. The products deliver exceptional performance from -40°C to +80°C.  F-numbers down to 1.0 are available while maintaining an MTF that exceeds industry standards.  The INSPIRE™ family of product delivers the highest resolution images for night vision in the 0.6 µm to 1.7 µm imaging band.

“We are dedicated to developing rugged innovative solutions, and the Featherweight™ product family is just one example of our team’s ability to solve difficult customer problems,” said Angelique X. Irvin, President and CEO of Clear Align. “Clear Align looks forward to announcing new imaging and laser solutions for our NIR and SWIR customers in the coming months.”
