Quality Technician - Eagleville, PA

This role exists to ensure product quality and compliance through the inspection and verification of optical and mechanical components, assemblies, and systems. The Quality Technician ensures products consistently meet customer, military, regulatory, and internal quality standards through accurate inspection, documentation, and quality oversight. This role plays a key part in maintaining product integrity, audit-ready quality records, and continuous improvement efforts while supporting Clear Align’s mission to help customers see clearly and act decisively in mission-critical environments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

First 90 Days – Learn, Contribute, and Build Confidence

  • Complete training in inspection procedures, quality systems, and optical and mechanical inspection processes. 
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections while building familiarity with company quality standards and documentation practices. 
  • Become proficient with standard optical, mechanical, and metrology inspection equipment and tools. 
  • Support quality documentation activities and maintain accurate, audit-ready records. 
  • Build cross-functional relationships with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to support overall product quality.

By 6 Months – Build Independence and Capability

  • Independently perform inspection activities and maintain accurate, complete quality documentation. 
  • Build proficiency with optical, mechanical, and metrology inspection equipment and processes. 
  • Apply engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements to support consistent inspection outcomes. 
  • Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to support product quality and resolve inspection-related issues. 
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, reliability, and accountability in quality and compliance activities.

By 12 Months – Become a Trusted Quality Partner

  • Independently support First Article Inspection (FAI), nonconformance documentation, and quality reporting activities. 
  • Ensure inspection records, quality documentation, and compliance activities are accurate, complete, and audit-ready.
  • Help drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts through data, collaboration, and quality insight.
  • Take ownership of inspection work, ensuring accurate, complete, and audit-ready documentation. 
  • Consistently apply AS9100 and/or ISO quality standards while supporting overall product quality and compliance.

Position Requirements

Who You Are (Core Strengths & Competencies)

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to precision, quality, and continuous improvement. 
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements to support accurate inspection and documentation. 
  • Hands-on quality experience using inspection techniques, measurement tools, and quality standards in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, assess risk, and support corrective actions. 
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams. 
  • Self-directed, dependable, and adaptable in a fast-paced technical environment. 
  • Experience inspecting optical components and thin film optical coatings in a precision manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • 4-7 years of experience in manufacturing, inspection, quality, or a technical hands-on environment preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience operating within AS9100 and/or ISO 9000 regulated environments.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, and basic engineering drawings.
  • Experience working with precision tools, measurement equipment, and inspection documentation.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn quality systems and reporting tools.

Preferred Extras

  • Technical training, certificate, or coursework in manufacturing, quality, optics, engineering technology, or a related field is a plus.
  • Exposure to optical components, precision manufacturing, metrology equipment, or regulated manufacturing environments is a plus.
